Every great event, it has been well said, brings one absolute new thing into the world. Such an event was the starting of the K.L.E. Society in 1916 by seven dedicated teachers and three generous patrons. Their mission was to provide education, basically, to the children of the farming community who constitute a significant majority in Karnataka.
Dr. Prabhakar Basavprabhu Kore Chairman, K.L.E. Society, Belagavi, Chancellor, KLE Academy of Higher Education & research (KAHER), Belagavi Chancellor, KLE technological University, Hubballi was their act, yet it created a sensation in the educational history of this region.
The environment today is totally different from the one in 1916; yet, the Mission of the Founders of K.L.E. Society is pursued with the same zeal even after 108 years in the fulfillment of the vision of providing education to the needy in all spheres of human knowledge.
KLE Society manages a staggering 300 educational institutions spread across national and international level, the K.L.E. Society enjoys an unrivalled status. To advance the cause of education, the society has employed over 18,000 committed staff for academic excellence and has over 1,38,000 students on its roll. Obviously, The K.L.E. Society today stands second to none.
